Privacy & Analytics

What is collected

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic: how many people visit, which pages they read, what country and referrer they arrive from, and which links they interact with (for example, downloading PARASEQ or subscribing). This is used to improve the site and the audio tools. There are no ads and no sale of personal data.

Cookies & consent

Analytics run with Google Consent Mode v2 set to denied by default. No analytics cookies are stored until you press Accept in the consent banner. If you choose Decline, no analytics cookies are set and only privacy-preserving, cookieless measurement (if any) applies. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so you are not asked again.

Stored in your browser

A few small preferences are kept in your browser's local storage so the site doesn't ask twice: your analytics choice, your language choice (if you switch between English and French or dismiss the language suggestion), and whether you have subscribed to or dismissed the newsletter prompt. The Lab also remembers, for the current session only, that you have already seen its intro. None of this is sent anywhere.

Microphone

On the homepage, React to sound asks your browser for microphone access so the visuals can respond to the room. The sound level is analysed on your device, in real time, and is never recorded, stored or transmitted. Nothing is requested until you press the button, and pressing it again releases the microphone.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is sent to Kit (ConvertKit) to deliver release announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time from the footer of any email. Subscribing is entirely optional.

Embedded content

Some pages embed third-party players (YouTube, Bandcamp, Instagram). Those services may set their own cookies when their embeds load. See each provider's privacy policy for details.

Video and audio players are click-to-load: until you press play, the page shows a still image hosted on this site and makes no request to YouTube, Bandcamp or Instagram at all. Nothing is loaded from them, and no cookies are set by them, unless you choose to play something. YouTube videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com.

Your choices
